Signature Dish Signature Dish Susan's Spaghetti Sauce


In a large pot, coat bottom with olive oil and heat. Add onions, green pepper and garlic. Cook until onions are tender over semi hi heat.

Lower flame and add 2 cans tomato paste and cook until sauce starts to turn brown. Add salt and pepper and 1/8 cup of sugar and cook for about 10 minutes more until red/brown color (stirring constantly).

Add tomato sauce and use as a deglazer to scrape bottom of pan. Fill tomato sauce can with water and add to pot. Stir thoroughly.

Add Ragu to pot and add water to Ragu bottles to get all of the sauce out. Add this to pot and stir thoroughly.

Adjust salt and pepper and sugar to taste.

Add Parsley, Oregano and Basil to taste. Cover and cook for 30 minutes.

You can brown off ground meat, drain fat and add to sauce for a meat sauce. Cook for 30 minutes.

Daube - sear a chuck roast and add to sauce and push to bottom of pan. Cook for about 2 hours and then pull meat out, break apart and return to sauce.
